To distinguish the new MINI from the classic Mini, one would have to look at how it is written. In bold letters would be the new MINI, meanwhile the classic Mini would just have to take it the normal way. This MINI is a subsidiary of BMW and is also produced by that same subsidiary since 2001. In truth, this vehicle has been very much criticized over its poor space efficiency which as compared to the original Mini that held a quite larger size. However, this new MINI still has become quite very much faithful to the razor sharp handling characteristics that the original Minis held, as well as the unique styling style that the previous ones also sported.
Even if the MINI has had little advertising done, BMW still has been receiving tons of orders for this vehicle. And because of the large number of orders coming in, BMW has been suffering from a significant backlog of these. This new vehicle, MINI, has quite reached cult status the world over. Many people who own MINIs were constantly approached by strangers who were very much intrigued as to what that vehicle was, or also to recall the classic Minis. Even so, the new MINI has a following that could prove to be quite just as strong as its predecessors. And to top it all up, even despite all the criticisms that this vehicle has received, the MINI Cooper and the MINI Cooper S has been acclaimed as the North American Car of the Year award for the year 2003.
Rumors have it that a new version of the MINI would be out and be introduced in 2007. It will be completely restyled. This would also be crafted on a reengineered platform that contains many stylistic and engineering changes done in. This kind of styling would be shared by the MINI with the PSA Peugeot Citroen. This current MINI though sports circular headlamps, huge wheel flares, and a rounded appearance overall. It was first shown during the 2000 Paris Auto Show.
There has been quite a listing of movies that has had MINIs and Minis featured. The list includes Hitch (shows a dark silver MINI), Match Point (MINI One), Miss Congeniality 2: Armed and Fabulous (Silver MINI Cooper), Wicker Park (silver MINI Cooper), Spanglish (Liquid Yellow/White MINI Cooper), The Italian Job (pepper white, Indy Blue, Chili red and white MINI Cooper), and Austin Powers (MINI Cooper with a union jack body wrap). Movies for Mini vehicles include Lords of Dogtown (a red Mini), If Only (another red Mini), Hotel Rwanda, Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason (A Mini Cooper), The Bourne Identity (red Mini), Air Bud: Seventh Inning Fetch (MkI Mini), Lara Croft: Tomb Raider, Bridget Jones? Diary (Mk II Mini), and The Avengers (another Mk II Mini).

Get Your Car Ready for Winter
by: Marilyn Pokorney
Driving in winter conditions tests your car to the limit.
If something isn't working properly under the best
conditions it certainly isn't going to work when it's cold
and stormy.
Here are some tips to keep your car running
well in the winter.
The first thing to check before the weather gets cold is the
anti freeze level.
Not only how much fluid is in the
radiator, but also the ratio of antifreeze/water content.
Have a tune up done. Have your spark plugs cleaned and re-
gapped or replaced.
Change to a lighter oil which will help protect your engine
from excessive wear when starting a cold car. Heavier oil
takes longer to circulate into the motor and internal damage
can occur.
Change to winter wiper blades are a must for icy driving.
Whenever starting your car, make sure that there is nothing
obstructing the...

Tips For Winter Driving

Winter driving can be hazardous and stressful. Wind, snow, ice and blizzard conditions increase the normal dangers of driving. There is a lot you can do before the winter driving season and during a storm to protect yourself and your family.
Before winter arrives, have your car inspected to be sure it is ready for the road conditions. You can do this yourself or take it to a qualified mechanic. Check the battery, wipers and fluid, thermostat, brakes, ignition system, antifreeze, exhaust system, lights, oil level, heater and defrosters. Make sure everything is in good working order to keep you safe throughout the cold weather.
Check your tires to be sure they are road ready. Install tires that are appropriate for the driving conditions. In moderate amounts of snow, all weather radials will do the job nicely. If you live in a climate where you experience a lot of snow, consider snow tires. These...

Profiles in Branding: The Red Hat Society
by: Kevin Kearns
Unless you have lived in a cave for the past few years, you have seen them in your community. A group of women over 50 years of age dressed as pimps. Big red hats with feathers, boas draped around their shoulders, purple velvet suits, as gaudy as you can imagine. These ladies are no pimps. They are members of a popular women over-50 group, The Red Hat Society.
The Red Hat Society beginnings started in a thrift store in 1997. Queen-Mother (official title), Sue Ellen Cooper, purchased a special red fedora. A few months later, Cooper gave a similar fedora to a friend, along with the poem "Warning" by Jenny Joseph. In the "Warning" poem, Joseph writes about an older women in what eventually became the official "Red Hatter" uniform, red hat with a purple outfit. By 1998, The Red Hat Society was well on its way to spreading across the globe!
